Stephen M. Zamucen
, M.B.A., C.P.A., C.V.A., A.B.V., received his B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his MBA from the University of Santa Clara. As a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, Mr. Zamucen's emphasis is on expert witness testimony, forensic accounting and merger & acquisition consulting. He has testified in ten Superior Courts throughout California and in Federal Court. Mr. Zamucen has been an instructor at the California State University, Long Beach and University of California Irvine Extension Programs as well as at numerous bar associations. Mr. Zamucen is presently the chairman of the Orange County-Long Beach CPA Chapter Merger and Acquisition/Business Valuation Committee.

Jaime C. Holmes, CPA, J.D., is the newest partner of the firm. He graduated from the University of Redlands with a B.A. in Quantitative Decisions Analysis. He earned his J.D. from Western State University with an emphasis in taxation and was admitted to the California bar in 1995. Jaime was associated with a "Big Eight" CPA firm in litigation support and audit. He joined the management team of a Fortune 100 manufacturing company and later a major real estate company. Jaime has qualified as an expert witness in Superior Courts and at arbitration hearings. His case experience includes business losses, professional malpractice, marital dissolution, asset tracing, business valuation and piercing the corporate veil. He is author of a comprehensive work on the subject: Pierce or Protect the Veil (see "Popular Publications"). Jaime is a member of the American and Orange County Bar Associations, the AICPA and California Society of CPAs

John Kinross-Kennedy, CPA, was graduated from Carlton University with a B.A. in Economics. He gained the accounting concentration for the CPA certificate at Western Washington University. After auditing in an international accounting firm, John moved to a forensic career, reconstructing records, identifying assests and valuing businesses. He has qualified as an expert witness in Superior Court and Federal Court. He is co-author of two forensic accounting books published by Zamucen, writes a monthly newsletter and is a frequent speaker and lecturer.

Scott N. Radley, CPA received a Master of Arts in business Administration/Accounting and has "Big Six" public accounting experience as an Audit Senior. For over 15 years, he has served as Controller, Chief Financial Officer and business Operations Manager for a variety of manufacturing companies. Mr. Radley's primary focus is giving assistance to small, new and emerging companies.


Daniel C. Curren graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Dan is a member of The American Society of Appraisers, The Institute of Business Appraisers and the Association for Investment Management and Research. Dan is a Candidate in the Business Valuation program of the American Society of Appraisers and in the Chartered financial Analyst program. Dan is also a licensed California real estate broker. Dan is the president of a middle market business brokerage, merger and acquisition consultation and valuation firm for privately held businesses.

Patricia S. Benedetti, Staff Accountant. Patti works in the litigation department. Her expertise in forensic accounting includes:

  • Cash tracing
  • Scheduling of cash flow
  • Financial analysis
  • Business valuation techniques and procedures

She has also developed custom software for business applications. Patti received a B.S. in Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science from Colorado State University. Prior to joining the staff of Zamucen and Close, Patti worked as a day care instructor. Patti enjoys golfing and biking.

Judy Lachman, Staff Accountant. Judy is responsible for the office records and handles both accounts payable and accounts receivable. Judy is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles and holds a B.A. degree in history and a California Elementary Teaching Credential. In addition, she received an Accounting Certificate from Orange Coast College. Judy has taught in the public school system and served as a treasurer for various organizations. Judy enjoys reading, golfing and traveling.


LOS ANGELES


Paula E. Robins, CPA, is a qualified expert witness in Los Angeles Superior Court. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stanford and received an MBA from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management. She was associated with a "Big Six" accounting firm, working with clients in auditing and tax and later served in the treasury department of a health-care company. Her focus is on litigation, forensic accounting and expert witness testimony. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner. She has also taught tax seminars and workshops and has written articles on taxes and financial planning.
